Sunday dresses

I love dressing Callie for church on Sunday. She has so many cute little dresses and never enough time to wear them all. Today at church Loren was looking through his binder to find a picture for his 11-12 year old class. Callie loved looking at all the pictures. She just reaches and strains to grab for them all. Callie and I left church an hour early today. Callie hadn't taken a nap yet and she was hungry for her cereal. The 3rd hour was combined and in a small room. I just didn't want to fight a hungry tired baby in a room stuffed full of people, so I went home. I had to snap some photos of my cute little girl before taking off her Sunday clothes. Here is a picture of my cute sleepy little girl.

Greenbeans

Callie tried her first veggie on Friday. She ate the first 5 bites like a champ and then every bite after that she would open her mouth really wide and choke on it while she tries not to swallow it. It was too funny watching her. The following day she ate more, but the beans had to be warm.

Many faces

While Callie was trying on the new headbands, I got a few pictures of her many faces. She is just too cute. I love her little hair standing up in the back in the first one.

Mommy's nap time activities

Callie has been taking longer naps lately. And with the time I have now, well when I'm not running back into her room to put her pacifier in, I've started doing some projects. I've made several tutu's in the past couple days (I hope she isn't a tom boy) and then today I sewed a headband. She was still sleeping so I snuck into my scrape booking supplies and made some floral hair clips. I'm excited to try them on her.If you know me, I'm always planning ahead. The last time I was at Goodwill looking for books I spotted some Easter books. I got so excited about Callie's Easter basket, I went ahead and made it. I got the basket at DI for $2 and spray paint for $3. I had bought the bunny, eggs, and grass after this last Easter for 75% off and already had the ribbon. I'm sure there will be more things we purchase to put in the basket, but I think it looks pretty cute. For my next couple of projects I plan on sewing a dog bed (we'll see if he chews it up or not), typing a cookbook of my favorite recipes, and making a scrape book for 2008. I finished 2009 last week and it is being shipped. I'm very excited to get it and see how it looks. I'm planning on doing a small digital scrape book for every year. It took me a couple of weeks to do 2009, but it is going a lot smoother for 2008. I have a deadline of Aug 31 to get the book for free, so I've got to jump on it pretty soon.

I have the best job in the world. I get to spend most of the day with my little girl and then I get to do all of my little projects. I love being able to stay at home. Thank you Loren. I love you.

Canning

With our garden booming this year, I have taken up canning. With my first batch of green beans I used a pressure caner that is Loren's grandmothers. The pressure dial gauge was broken, so I don't know if the beans were canned right. And because we don't want to get food poising from them I dumped them. The past couple weeks I've been blanching the green beans and freezing them. I don't know how those will taste when we use them again, but it was worth a try.

Then last night when I was picking veggies from the garden, and had picked a big metal bowel full of green beans. I didn't want to freeze this batch, so I called around the neighborhood and ended up borrowing a pressure caner from a friend. Loren and I canned 6 quarts of green beans and had a zip lock of fresh beans left over. The canning process was very simple and I can't wait until next week to do another whole batch. After we get our caner fixed, I can't wait to try canning all different kinds of things.

My little jumper

We bought this jumper at a garage sale last year when we were expecting and I'm glad that we did. Callie is finally strong enough to use it and she loves it. Mommy loves it too. I can put her in it and she will watch me vacuum, sweep, and mop with out a fuss.

New flowers

I think mommy needs to buy smaller flowers to put in Callie's headbands.

Comparison

After my sister commenting that Callie looks like me I had to look up a picture of me at 5 months. I do think we look alike. I can't wait to see what she looks like as a little girl.

Old Videos

I was organizing photos on the computer and ran across these old videos of Bowser. There isn't any sound because Bowser ruined that part of my camera. But you still get the jest. He is the best dog in the world.

5 months

Callie is growing so fast. Our little baby seems like a little girl sometimes. Callie has really began showing her own little personality. She is determined and stubborn. If she sees something she wants, she concentrates and works until she can grab it. Her hand eye coordination is great. She has tried and loved rice cereal, oatmeal, and barley. She loves watching, petting, and getting kisses from the dog. She makes up new sounds each day and talks all the time. Sometimes we even have to take her out of church because she is talking too loud. Callie is now going to bed at 8:30 each night by herself after about 10 min of crying, but the time is getting shorter every night. Each day is an adventure and we look forward to each and every one of them.Callie -
Your mommy and daddy love you so much. We can't imagine a time that you weren't in our lives. Mommy wakes up excited to see you each morning and loves spending each day with you. Mommy loves how you cuddle up next to her after your naps and how you reach out and play with her face and smile. Daddy can't wait to come home each day from work and spend time with you. He loves to spank your bottom and sing jingles to you while you are in the bath. We love you!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Headbands

Callie found her headband. I hope this isn't a new thing for her. I love putting bows on my little girl.

Great Grandpa

Callie got to meet her Great Grandpa Loveless a couple of weekends ago. I'm glad he got to stay with us. It was fun getting to know him a little better.

2010 Garden

We are getting huge veggies out of our garden this year. Just look at this tomato! I'm so ready for my BLTs. Yummy!

Bath Time

Callie has been pushing her butt out of the baby tub, so we thought we would try out the big bath tub. She liked it a lot, but the toys kept floating away from her. She is also so tiny that we had to put a towel behind her to support her. We did 3 baths like this, then put her back in the baby bath. It was just easier on our backs and a little more convenient. I guess we will just have to wait until she is a little bigger.

Cleaning

I took on the challenge of cleaning our couch. I had to hand scrub the soap on the cushions and then I used the steam cleaner. I think it looks pretty good. What do you think? Now onto the arm rests and back cushions.
