6 weeks

I can't believe it has already been 6 weeks. If I were going back to work, this would be my last week with Callie full time. I think it would break my heart leaving her with someone else. At a daycare she wouldn't get rocked to sleep and have cuddle time with mommy. Not only does she need the cuddle time, I think I do too. I love spending time with her and trying to get her to smile.
We have really created a routine each day. Callie usually wakes up between 4-5am to feed and then goes back to sleep until 7-8am. Then we hang out around the house (eat, clean, go back to sleep). After that, we usually go on a walk around 9am, come home and while Callie is sleeping, Mommy is getting ready for the day. Then Mommy tries to pick up the house and eat some lunch before Callie wakes up. Then by 12pm, Callie wakes up and is ready to eat. She usually stays up for 2 hours and we are ready for a nap at 2pm. We sit down together to rock Callie to sleep and for Mommy to watch her shows and by 3 we are both asleep in the recliner. Loren gets home anywhere from 4:30 - 6:00pm (depending if he took the car or not) and we are awaiting his arrival. We spend awake time with daddy all evening. We then give Callie a bath around 9pm and wait for her nighttime poopy diaper. Then she is ready for bed and it is usually around 11:00pm.

Growing fast

Callie has been growing so fast that we have slowly been packing away newborn clothing. Today we pulled out her first outfit. It was so tiny. We put the bottom of the outfit at her feet and the top of the outfit barely hit her chest. I knew she was getting bigger, but I didn't think she had grown this much. Callie, Mommy and Daddy love you so much, big or small.

Lazy dog

I think our dog has to lay it's head on something all the time.

Busy, busy, busy

Randy and Rene (Loren's parents) came into town for Randy's birthday. Every time they come they always help with projects. This weekend, we had them bring their rototiller. We got our flowerbeds ready, our garden ready, the fence re-done, the tall tall grass mowed, and the cement patio broken up. It was great to have their help with the projects, but even better to have my hands freed all weekend from holding Callie.
Rene rototilling the flowerbeds to put the strawberries and raspberry plants. The garden is rototilled and ready to be planted (we aren't suppose to plant yet because of freezing weather). The chain link fence was still in the process of being fixed. Here my strong husband was breaking up the cement slab. Don't mind the mismatched siding, before Callie was born we took the sliding glass door out of the master bedroom and put in a window. We love the window being there. We can open it and not worry about someone just walking in, and who really needs 3 sliding glass doors on the back of their small home. Our next project is painting the outside of the house.Callie was outside with us most of the day and wasn't bothered by any of the noise. Here she is being held by Grandma Turnbow and allowing me to get some stuff done.Bowser loved us all being there and being outside with him. He ran around with a big smile all day long. Here he was laying claim to his post that he chews on.

All in all it was a very productive weekend. Thank you so much for all your help Randy and Rene, and Happy Birthday Randy!

1 month old

Callie turned one month old on Saturday. I can't believe how fast time goes.

Things Mommy and Daddy love about Callie:
Happy milk face
The noises she makes while getting her diaper changed
The grunting noises while she sleeps
Her smiles
The stretch that goes from nose to toes
How she sleeps on our chest
Morning cuddle time
Our walks with her
Her little fingers and toes
How her bum fits in our hands
How she giggles in her sleep
How she smiles while she is feeding

Things that amaze Mommy and Daddy:
How beautiful she is
How she can hold her head of for a long time
How loud she can scream
How well she sleeps (4-10 hours a night)
How much our animals watch her

Bowser is too funny

Bowser has been so cute around Callie. All he does is follow her around and try to lick her. Lately he has been laying on anything of hers. Right after I did the photo shoot of Callie and lifted her up off the blanket, Bowser quickly took the spot. The next one is a picture of Bowser using the boppy as a pillow. Our dog is too funny.

Photo shoot

I had been refereed to a photographer that was wanting to build her newborn portfolio, but the timing wasn't right and then she got sick. Therefore, we didn't get any really good professional photos. I was really bummed, so I decided to do a little photo shoot myself. Here are my favorites that I took today.

Getting so big

Every time I look at Callie, I can't believe how big she has gotten already. She is 2 1/2 weeks old and is becoming a great baby. She is awake more during the day, sleeping well at night (last night a straight 7 hours), and showing more emotions. We love you Callie.
